Yesterday Ethan took his first ride on a baby swing at the park.  He loved it!  He also loves pinching me in the neck and arms while we nurse.  I have tried offering him a finger to squeeze or a scarf around my neck to play with.  Nope. Nothing compares with mashing Mommy's skin with his tiny baby fingers.  He has expanded his palette beyond sweet.  He is now eating green beans. He does not like being scolded.  I raised my voice and firmly told him, "No.  Don't bite Mommy" after he bit my shoulder.  He scrunched up his face, stuck out his lip and cried.  Life's tough when your getting your sixth tooth.

My Special Day with Ethan

Ethan I went to Mt. Tabor Park in Portland.  I pushed Ethan to the top of the peaked park on the paved trail and then we decided to off road!  I swerved the stroller back and forth on the bumpy dirt trail, winding down the little mountain, making motor sounds and occasionally getting it up on two wheels.  Ethan LOVED it.  He had the hugest smile, giggled and squealed with delight.  Surrounded by beautiful big trees, on a warm sunny day, laughing with my little boy.  It was simply the best.

Ethan Turns 8 Months Old

Ethan is such a happy little guy! He is interested in everything and notices new things in his surroundings immediately.  He is getting very vocal.  This week he started saying DaDa!  So special.  He has a new routine that Mommy especially likes.  He wakes up like clock work at 6am, plays happily in his crib, sometimes flips over onto his tummy and waits for Daddy to get him.  They then play and Daddy has his coffee while Mommy gets some extra zzzzs.  It is glorious!

Our Big Boy

Ethan weighs 17 pounds now.  He has 5 teeth and I think more are on the way soon.  He keeps me on my toes grabbing whatever is in reach.  He is full of smiles and enthusiastic sounds.  This week squash and applesauce were added to the food he likes.  

Playing in the Crib

Ethan has not been sleeping well the last few nights.  Nothing longer than about 2-3 hours at a time.  It makes for a tired Mommy and Daddy.... 

He is moving around more.  Not crawling.  More like grabbing onto things and squirming.  He can stand up all on his own if he has fingers to hold onto.  He is really excited by sounds. Crinkly sounds, rattle sounds, and funny sounds I make with my mouth.  He really likes drumming on things with Dad while they listen to music.

Intentionally or by chance, a few minutes after I took this picture, Ethan had put all the toys he pulled out on his left and all the books he pulled out on his right.  An organizer.  Just like Daddy;)

Ethan Has His Own Room

We are all moved into our new apartment.  Ethan has been sleeping in his own room.  He is still teething which has made for a couple rough nights, but last night he only woke up once!  Glorious!
This week I think he gave me his first kiss, he has began to predict things after seeing a pattern, he loves "reading" an indestructible book he got from his Grandpa Bear and Granny T, and he went to his first Easter egg hunt.
