In the 10th Month

The funny new face Ethan has been making recently
Ethan still loves swinging, banging on things, dumping out his toys and emptying his toy shelf, pulling all the alphabet letters off the fridge, taking baths (we did a bubble bath for the first time yesterday.  I think Ethan would say bubbles are slippery and don't taste very good...), eating strawberries in the garden, riding on Dad's shoulders, and looking at fish swim.  He is very good at feeding himself finger foods.  He does not like me to feed him with a spoon.  He's a big boy!  He is very fast at crawling and he loves to explore the apartment.  His two distinguishable words are Mama and Dada.  He sometimes says them to us and says Dada a lot when chewing on a pacifier.   It's pretty funny.  He still uses his little middle finger to do most things.  Also funny and something I end up explaining when people claim my son has just flipped them off.  Come on...he's a baby;)

Visiting Grandma and Papa in Seattle

Ethan and I had a lovely time with Grandma Sandy and Papa Bill.  Grandma had to work, but each night she made us wonderful food followed by a fun walk around the neighborhood.  Ethan enjoyed watching Papa's fish swim, playing with duplos that were once mine and Jason's, going to the pet store with Papa, and eating his first animal crackers.

Jeremy's First Father's Day

We spent Jeremy's first Father's Day in Corvallis at a Graduation Party for his cousin.  Jeremy was able to be surrounded by family, some of which he hadn't seen for years.  It was a special day he spent with his son and his dad.

Our Nightly Trip to the Park

Almost every night it doesn't rain, we walk to the park and Ethan swings.  He has gotten so used to it that as soon as we enter the park and he can see the jungle gym, he waves his little hands, kicks his feet, and makes sounds of excitement.

Pure Mommy Joy

Ethan is amazing and changing so quickly.  What he can do, what excites him, how he expresses himself.  I have loved every stage at every age and it just keeps getting better.  The way he shows affection is evolving.  Sometimes by the way he leans into me when I am holding him, other times with his open-mouthed kisses.  A few mornings ago, as I was lying in bed, I heard a sound coming from the hallway.   I knew it was Ethan's little hands hitting the carpet as he crawled towards me.  The sound got closer, "pat, pat, pat".  He poked his little head around the corner, spied me in bed and flashed me his big toothy grin .  It was mirrored by my smile.  He continued to melt my heart by crawling to the bed, pulling himself up, and reaching for me.  Pure Mommy joy.

Vacation

Jeremy had vacation last week.  It was the best!  It was a great mix of family fun and Jeremy getting to be in Ethan and my routine.  We went to the Vancouver Farmer's Market, a couple of doctor's appointments, our weekly library get together, Multnomah Falls, and visited Grammy Patti and Grandpa Steve in Albany.

Staying hydrated
Ethan loves vanilla greek yogurt
