"Ethan Do It!"

"Ethan do it!"  Our 2 year old says this all day.  He loves being hands on especially in the kitchen.  He has started sitting on the counter daily and I try to let him do as much as I can.  On this day he helped make "yummy bread".

SO PASSIONATE ABOUT MAKING BREAD!!!

Licking the beater was such a treat for me as a kid.  Ethan has now had that rite of passage.

He has started dragging this stool around to gain access to the sink and counters.  He can reach the water!  He's getting so big....

SO PASSIONATE ABOUT DISHES!!!

On the Mend But Not Out of the Woods

Ethan's cough is much better and the antibiotics he has been taking for the cold may just be what is helping clear up the perioral dermatitis.  His energy level has improved but he isn't himself especially at meal times.  You know he doesn't feel good when he asks for blueberries, is given them, and then cries real tears and says they are "yucky".  I can't wait for my little guy to get well.

Jeremy shaved his off a week or so ago but Ethan still giggled and said "Daddy" while he posed with his toothbrush mustache.

I asked Ethan to give me a thumbs up.  I got this after I told him his middle finger was not his thumb:)

Sick of Being Sick

Ethan had a cold before Christmas and began to develop perioral dermatitis.  The cold cleared up the week of Christmas as the dermatitis intensified and spread around his mouth and under his nose.  As soon as we returned from the Tricities, another cold hit.  It seemed to be getting better but on Saturday it really ramped back up.  Our poor little guy has a runny nose, coughing, a lot of congestion and sensitive skin under his nose.  His hemangioma is not helping.  It is determined to be chapped this winter despite my slathering of Vaseline.  It's sad not being able to make him better but we are cuddling and watching lots of Mickey Mouse.  He is mostly in good spirits.
Daddy made Ethan a snowflake while we keep Ethan inside to recoup

First Time Painting with Brushes

Ethan likes his new paint brushes..  He likes to paint the other brushes, paint his hands, paint the paper, and we ended our session when he declared "paint shirt".

He likes to be funny and close his eyes while I am taking pictures of him

Ethan likes the feeling of the paint

Last Week's Picnic

Ethan's favorite ingredients while making pretend food are his magnetic alphabet letters and his puzzle pieces which can be seen here on his picnic blanket.  When you ask him what he is making his favorite thing to tell you currently is "cucumbers, asparagus, more asparagus, lots of asparagus".
Ethan comes running back to the picnic with his toy tool gun which he told me was mustard
